Tigers rate well in mock BCS poll

It's Tuesday. What's going on with Clemson football? Let's check it out:

The Tigers are seventh in a mock BCS poll conducted by ESPN.

The Washington Post examines the personnel issues for both Maryland and Clemson ahead of Saturday's game.

• Offensive coordinator Chad Morris is still fine-tuning the Tigers' offense.

• ESPN hands out its midseason report cards. Here's Clemson's.

• Backup quarterback Cole Stoudt comes from a football background -- his dad, Cliff Stoudt, played in the NFL for eight seasons.

• Quarterback Tajh Boyd is on the Maxwell Award watch list. Other players are on the awards-season radar, too.

• Redshirt freshman running back Demont Buice will transfer.
